Glossary & Terms
Isolated, Intermittent Background Noises/Interruptions: Dogs, Kids, Table Bumps, or Mic Bumps where the sound is in-between vocals or on a track where person is not currently speaking. This is for accidental and occasional occurrences. More frequent Noises and Interruptions may require a higher editing tier and/or mixing & mastering to apply noise reduction.
False Start: Starting a thought, but not completing it, and then starting a new thought. Ex. "I just want to... OK Let's jump into the next topic"
Redundancies: Repeating something or saying the same thing more than once in a different way unnecessarily. Ex. "I said, I said "Hey! Get off my lawn!" or "I told them, I was like, I said "Hey! Get off my lawn!"
Filler Words: Sounds, words, or phrases used to fill pauses or hesitation, adding little to no meaning. Common examples include "um," "uh," "like," "you know," and "basically".
Stutters & Stumbles: Repeating a word or stumbling over your words while attempting to form a thought. Ex. "I could not believe the... the... the Audacity of this person!" or "I could not buda-bedee-believe the Audacity of this person!
**All Edit Types are "where possible" & "within reason" depending on connection to surrounding audio & frequency of occurrence. Some mistakes may remain for continuity or to retain a natural speech pattern vs an over-obvious edit.
